Business Development Manager

ThinkGard is experiencing tremendous growth and has an opportunity for an experienced sales professional to build their own territory from the ground up, being the sole sales rep in their region. The role is a combination of Outside and Inside Sales Rep. They will be responsible (and compensated) for all new business obtained.

In this role, you will be selling a full managed service solution including hardware, software, and services to Public or Private Sector clients.

Compensation: Salary + commission

What you’ll be doing (duties of this position):

  • Responsible for building a new territory and work to achieve maximum sales profitability, growth, and account penetration within an assigned region.
  • The territory consists of a geographic area. The territory that this rep covers does not have an Inside Sales Rep or Field Rep. Utilizes inside and outside sales techniques to identify, qualify and close new opportunities.
  • Guides prospects through the full-cycle sales process, collaborating with team members in management, business development, and support to uncover all customer needs.
  • Responsible for learning ThinkGard’s complete offerings and competitive issues in order to offer the most accurate consultation to prospective clients.
  • Traveling to various tradeshows, clients & prospects, and organization meetings within assigned territory (3-5 weeks a year, will include some overnight travel).
  • Work involves problem-solving.
  • Completes own role largely independently within defined policies and procedures.
  • There will be a high volume of cold calling.

What you’ll need to be considered (requirements): 

Requires at least 2 years of experience in a professional full cycle sales position.

  • Typically, College graduate or equivalent
  • Previous experience and/or knowledge in technology sales (highly preferred)
  • Ability to communicate effectively over the phone with high-level decision-makers
  • Successful sales track record
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and closing skills
  • Team player
  • Strong marketing skills
